The Kyle Petty Charity Ride has always been on the cards, but for issues related to COVID, organizers had to make adjustments to have more people participating in what will be the 26th Anniversary Ride. That’s nearly three years in the making, with riders ready for the upcoming adventure taking place in Arizona and Utah. A whole lot of scenes will be involved with the endgame of the event geared towards getting deserving kids to experience the magic of Camp.

The Ride is organized by former NASCAR driver and NBC Sports racing analyst Kyle Petty and will take 125 motorcycles on a Southwestern Adventure. As one of the most popular and successful charity rides in the country, the Ride will be presented by Cox Automotive and will begin in Phoenix, Arizona, on April 30 and return to Phoenix on May 6—starting and ending in the same city.

The Ride is founded on principles that include making the world a better place and improving the culture of giving back to society. It’s billed to host riders and celebrate the start of another journey to generate funds and awareness for the Victory Junction Camp. Piedmont Moving Systems will be taking part, and according to the owner, Tabatha Beltramo, “this is our 26th year to provide the transportation of the motorcycles. This year, we will transport them from North Carolina to Arizona. My parents also participate and ride the ride as well!”

Petty will go on a trip spanning more than 1,500 miles on a seven-day trek accompanied by approximately 225 participants, including nearly 40 new riders, all to raise funds and awareness for Victory Junction. The Camp is set up to provide life-changing camping experiences for children with serious medical illnesses.

As always, spectators and participants can expect highlights on the 2022 route, including featuring on the Phoenix Raceway track, riding historic Route 66, visiting the Grand Canyon National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, seeing the Grand Staircase and Humphreys Peak, and much more.

If you’re along the 2022 route, you can attend one of the Ride’s seven overnight stops or daily fuel stops to greet Petty and the riders, purchase memorabilia, and make donations. For example, Day 1 on Saturday, April 30, takes place from Phoenix, Arizona to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, while Day 6 ride is from the Monument Valley, Utah to Sedona, Arizona. You can make stops at any of these days or others to donate and witness a historic event.

Over the last 25 years, the Ride has raised more than $19 million. No doubt, this year’s total will surpass the $1.7 million raised and 128 children sent to Victory Junction in 2019, all thanks to the buildup of expectations from the two years hiatus.
