Piedmont Moving Systems is participating in a very special outreach event this Friday and Sleeping Bag ProjectSaturday.  The 2 Annual Sleeping Bag Project is a local San Jose program that helps our homeless population around the city sleep just a bit better.  This year 300 sleeping bags have been purchased by individuals from the Westgate Church!  This has nearly doubled our effort from last year! These sleeping bags along with food, beanies and socks will be distributed by groups to individuals living under the bridges of San Jose.  As a San Jose moving company and storage service center Piedmont moving systems is providing a warehouse for gathering and storing the items as well as employees helping distribute!

Day one will consist of preparing the bags!  This event will be focused on organizing all sleeping bags, beanies and socks and packaging them together as one unit. This will take place at the warehouse only and is great for getting children involved!  Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Delivering the sleeping bags will be day two’s activity.  Starting at 8:00am all volunteers will meet at the warehouse to pick up the prepared bags for delivery to the homeless. Volunteers will be broken up into teams that will target specific territories in San Jose.   We will then deliver the sleeping bags to individuals in need.

We are very excited to be participating in such an event and are always looking for helpful volunteers! Please contact Piedmont moving systems if you wish to help out those in need this year!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
